Meet the artist

Saleha Komal

Saleha Komal is a self-taught Pakistani-Canadian artist with over a decade of experience. She’s known for her stunning landscape and portrait paintings, working primarily in oil and acrylic mediums.

Her work is shaped by what she notices in unseeming places around her from her travels and in daily life, as well as her response to both beauty and suffering in the world. It exists between protest and inspiration.

About Saleha

Saleha Komal is a self-taught Pakistani-Canadian artist based in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.

With over a decade of experience, she is known for her expressive landscape and portrait paintings in oil and acrylic.

Inspired by nature and The Creator’s creation, she often incorporates vivid blues and greens that tie the natural world around her into her palette.

Saleha has worked on murals, portraits, abstract and mixed-media pieces. Beyond painting, she also explores charcoal, clay, collage, photography, and organic materials — open to any medium that brings her vision to life.

For Saleha, experiencing and creating art is central to the human experience.
